THREE EDITORIALS

Site Ed. Note: Because we have fallen behind and because most of the primary stories and editorials have become redundant of matters already amply covered, there will be notes associated only with selected stories henceforth until we catch up.

The front page for this date is here. The D.C. Court of Appeals this date reversed the contempt of Congress conviction of playwright Arthur Miller, husband of Marilyn Monroe. The reversal was based on the absence of any direction to him by HUAC to answer the question regarding who was with him at a meeting of "Communist writers" in 1947. He had said that he would admit his own presence but would not implicate others.
