Ad in August, 1941 National Geographic for Hotel Reforma where Cash's strangled body was found. The ad reads: "Mexican hospitality at its best. On the Paseo de la Reforma. Distinguished atmosphere. Superb appointments. Singles from $3." The Reforma was a new and luxurious hotel; $3 was an expensive rate in 1941, especially for Mexico. Thus the apparent choice by Cash of a room at this place does not at all fit his lifelong parsimony.
